Apply for a Grant
The fifth round of funding for Spring 2017 is now open and will close at 5:00pm. onFriday, April 14. The applications can be accessed using the links below. Please feel free to reach out to your UOC Finance Manager with any questions!
here are five rounds of funding per semester. The deadlines are as follows. Each round of funding will close at 5:00pm on the days listed below.

Before you submit an application for an Organizational Grant, thoroughly read the UOC Grant Guidelines page (review all four sections: General, Administrative Grants, Event, and Publication Grants).
Note that the UOC is moving away from allocating the majority of its budget towards Administrative Grants. We highly favor Event Grants for their positive impact on student life. Please also note that publications on campus should apply for Publication Grants instead of Administrative Grants, but they are also eligible to apply for Event Grants.
All grant rewards are only valid for the semester in which they are given. If your student organization does not pick up the distribution of your award by the end of the semester, then you can no longer receive the grant.
After you apply
For the final round of funding, all grant decision notifications will be sent out via email by 11:59pm on the Thursday following the application deadline above. If you received a grant or a partial grant, please obtain the funds as follows:
For those awards less than or equal to $500:
Beginning the Friday following notification, the Treasurer for the group can come to the Business Office (55 Whitney Ave, Suite 630) to receive a petty cash voucher and a receipts submission form. The voucher will be taken to Treasury Services (2 Whitney Ave, corner of Whitney and Grove, across from Bruegger’s Bagels) where the Treasurer will sign for and receive cash. Note that it must be the named treasurer and a student ID must be presented.
Note that office hours for the Business Office are 9 am-noon and 1 pm-4 pm on Fridays and 1:00pm - 4:00pm on Wednesdays. Office hours for Treasury Services are 8:30-4 pm Monday-Friday.
For those awards greater than $500:
If the group will pay out of pocket and be reimbursed:
The treasurer needs to bring the receipts along with a completed Receipt Submission Form to the Business Office (55 Whitney Ave, Suite 630) during office hours. The Business Office will submit a check request in the name of the Treasurer. Once processed, the check will be held at Treasury Services, and an e-mail will notify the Treasurer that it can be picked up. (Note that it may take several days before the check arrives at Treasury Services.) The Treasurer must pick up the check and a student id must be presented. It is also recommended to bring a copy of the notification e-mail to expedite the process at Treasury Services.
If the group does not want to pay out-of-pocket:
Pre-Ordering: Groups who wish to purchase items online or over the phone can fill out a purchase request form (include link to form). The Student Organizations Graduate Assistants will purchase items for groups using a Yale pcard on Wednesday afternoons. All requests must be sent in by 2pm each Wednesday in order to be purchased that week.
To receive an advance: The Treasurer will need to notify Betty Jane Schiller (firstname.lastname@example.org) that they would like an advance. The business office will fill out an advance request and notify the Treasurer when it is ready to be signed and picked up (Note that it must be the Treasurer who picks up the form.) An advance of $1,000 or less can be brought to Treasury Services and cash will be distributed. If the advance is over $1,000, a check request will be processed. (Note that upon request a check request can be processed for advances less than $1,000, if you do not feel comfortable receiving that much cash.)
